
Richard A. Cederoth
Richard A. Cederoth is a partner in Chicago and focuses his practice on patent litigation, primarily involving software, computers and semiconductors. He has represented major corporations in patent disputes for over 25 years, including many multiple defendant federal court cases and the International Trade Commission, and has also taught and lectured on patent and intellectual property law.
Mr. Cederoth has been named to the Chambers USA list of leading intellectual property lawyers annually from 2004 – 2021. In 2011, IAM Patent Litigation 250: The World’s Leading Patent Litigators recognized him as a lawyer at the top of his field. He is also recommended in The Best Lawyers in America 2013–2019 for Intellectual Property Litigation and Patent Litigation. Mr. Cederoth is recognized as a Litigation Star in the United States in the 2014–2017 editions of Benchmark Litigation. Additionally, he has been recommended in intellectual property in The Legal 500 US 2014–2017.
Mr. Cederoth is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and other professional organizations.
