Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira
Former Attorney General Martinez earned his doctorate in legal and socio-economic sciences from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogota, Colombia. Additionally, he has a specialization in Economic Sciences, Commercial Law and Family Law at the same university. He earned a Master´s degree in Corporate Law from Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas.
For over 26 years, Former Attorney General Martinez has taught Law in graduate and undergraduate programs at universities such as Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Sergio Arboleda, Universidad del Rosario, and Universidad de los Andes. He has achieved widespread recognition for his publications on Commercial and Financial Law. From 1987 to 1992, he was the director of the Economic Law Department and head of the Graduate Program in Corporate Law, and from 2007 to 2014, he directed the specialization program in Commercial Law, all at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
Former Attorney General Martinez has also served as Minister to the Presidency (Colombia’s “Super Minister”), Minister of Interior, Minister of Justice, Financial Superintendent, Colombia’s Ambassador to France. He has been the Former Attorney General in Colombia since August 2016.
