
Monica M. Brown
Monica Brown is the Assistant General Counsel for Worldwide Refrigeration, a division of Lennox International Inc. (NYSE LII), a global leader in the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration markets. In this role, Monica serves as lead counsel of the company’s refrigeration business, including its businesses in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, is a member of the Executive Global Leadership Team, and provides counsel and advice to senior management and employees on numerous legal issues. In addition to her role as counsel for the refrigeration business, Monica also oversees the corporate real estate division at Lennox, which includes over 200 retail stores, manufacturing facilities, and distribution center locations.
Monica is a graduate of the Lennox Leadership Development Program (LDP), is a member of the Lennox Women’s Business Council (LWBC), including as a Leader at Large, is a mentor for the Lennox M4D (Mentoring for Diversity) Program, and has spoken on several panels for Lennox, including at the first annual LWBC luncheon at the 2016 Lennox Sales Meeting.
In addition to her activities at Lennox, Monica has spoken on numerous panels, including at the Dallas Women in Leadership Symposium hosted by the National Diversity Council in 2019 and at the Eighth Annual Inspiring Women’s Luncheon hosted by the Dallas Bar Association in 2015. In 2019, Monica was named to the Lawyers of Color’s Nation’s Best List, presented by Major, Lindsay, and Africa, and in 2014, Monica was selected out of over 200 nominees as one of 25 women honored by the Dallas Business Journal. She is also member of the Executive Women’s Roundtable, an affiliate of the Dallas Regional Chamber, the Corporate Counsel Women of Color, the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation, the Dallas Bar Foundation, and the Dallas Bar Association; and has served as a Barrister on the Honorable Patrick E. Higginbotham Inn of Court and on the Board of Trustees at St. Philip’s School and Community Center in South Dallas.
Before joining Lennox in 2012, Monica practiced in the area of complex commercial litigation at Jones Day for almost 13 years and clerked in the Third Court of Appeals for the Honorable Lee Yeakel, who is currently a District Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. Monica earned a bachelor of science in mathematics from Howard University in Washington DC in 1995, summa cum laude, and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1998. She currently lives in the Dallas area with her husband, Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Fidelity Investments, and her two children.
