
Dan Girdwood
Dan Girdwood is a Vice President within Samsung Electronics U.S. IP Center (Washington DC Office), where he manages intellectual property matters spanning the company’s many product platforms. As part of the company’s team of in-house litigation and licensing experts, he is primarily responsible for managing district court litigations and Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC), as well as appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Before joining Samsung Electronics, Dan was a staff attorney at the USITC, where he served as lead trial attorney for the Office of Unfair Import Investigations on several Section 337 investigations and detailed as a Section 337 aide to former Commissioner Shara Aranoff. His government career further includes a clerkship with retired Federal Circuit Judge Randall R. Rader. At various points in his legal career, he also worked in the Washington DC offices of Heller Ehrman LLP, Steptoe & Johnson LLP, and Foley & Lardner LLP.
