
Christine A. Nowak
Christine A. Nowak currently serves as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division. Judge Nowak was appointed to this position in 2015.
Prior to joining the judiciary, Judge Nowak was in private practice at AmLaw ranked firms Dykema Cox Smith and KL Gates, LLP (formerly Hughes & Luce) where she focused on complex business and commercial litigation. Judge Nowak served as Dykema Cox Smith’s lateral hiring and recruiting partner in its Dallas office and as a member of the firm-wide Recruiting Committee and was repeatedly recognized as a Texas Monthly Rising Star.
Judge Nowak earned a J.D., cum laude, from Baylor Law School and a B.B.A. in Accounting, cum laude, from Texas A&M University where she was a recipient of the coveted Buck Weirus Spirit Award. Judge Nowak, is an active member of the bar, and while not an exhaustive listing of her bar activities, she is a Past President of the Grayson County Bar Association, and a current member of the Grayson, Collin, Dallas, Baylor, Texas Aggie, and Eastern District Bar Associations. She was named the DAYL Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year in 2016. She is also a Texas, Dallas and DAYL Foundation Fellow and acts on the Advisory Board for the Collin County Women Lawyer’s Association and as a Judicial Liaison for the Women Lawyers of the Eastern District of Texas.
