
Brian Pandya
Brian Pandya serves as Deputy Associate Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice. The Office of the Associate Attorney General oversees DOJ’s litigating and grant-making components and works closely with the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General to implement department policies. Brian’s portfolio includes oversight of matters in the Antitrust Division, Civil Division, and Office of Justice Programs covering a range of subjects including privacy, competition law, administrative law, Constitutional issues, trade, healthcare, and national security.
Before his government appointment in February 2019, Brian was a partner at Wiley Rein LLP in Washington, DC, where his practice focused on patent litigation, licensing and trade secret disputes, and other complex matters and investigations before federal district and appellate courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), government agencies, and standard setting organizations (SSOs). While at Wiley Rein, Brian chaired the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB) subcommittee and served as a federal public defender in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Brian earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and B.S. in mechanical engineering from Penn State University. After law school, Brian clerked for Judge Leonard Davis on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Brian is a two-time recipient of the Federal Circuit Bar Association’s Pro Bono Advocacy Award for work on behalf of military veterans and a Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).
