PROGRAM UPDATE FROM CHAIRPERSON MELISSA SMITH

Dear Friends of EDTX,

I hope everyone is enjoying a safe and productive summer as things continue to open and regular activities resume.

The events and challenges of the past year have impacted virtually every facet of our personal and professional lives.  We have experienced unprecedented loss, change and interruption, which included the postponement of our 24th Annual EDTX Bench Bar Conference in 2020.

Melissa R. Smith, Gillam & Smith LLPHowever, as Chairperson of this year’s conference, I am excited to update everyone on the commencement of our Annual Bench Bar on October 13-15th 2021 at the Dallas/Plano Marriott Hotel in Legacy Town Center.  The format of the conference will be in-person and the hotel has recently undergone a complete renovation, making it a safer and better than ever venue for bench bar.

We have been hard at work developing the program and recruiting top tier panelists.  As in 2019, the program will feature both a patent and non-patent track and we are excited about the broad range of panel topics currently being considered.  Without a doubt, we will host our best conference ever as enthusiasm and excitement have never been stronger to continue with this great event!

Our official 2021 EDTX Bench Bar Planning Committee Meeting will be held Friday, July 30th in downtown Fort Worth, Texas at Hotel Drover.  For those interested in participating, please sign-up here for more information.  However, if you are unable to join us on July 30th but would like to submit a panel topic or program suggestion for bench bar, you may do so by completing the topic submission form by July 27, 2021.

A bench bar program will be promptly posted following the Planning Committee Meeting.

Many thanks to everyone for your hard work and interest in the 2021 EDTX Bench Bar Conference!

Sincerely,

Melissa Smith, Chairperson
