Sarah Duncan Jacobs

Assistant Federal Public Defender EDTX

Sarah is an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Texas. Prior to this she practiced state, federal, and juvenile criminal defense in the Dallas area for over a decade.

She has tried dozens of felony cases to verdict, as a solo practitioner and with a criminal defense firm. In 2014 and 2016, she handled high profile Election Law cases, including trial. Sarah was honored to teach Texas Criminal Procedure as an Adjunct Professor at UNT College of Law for two semesters. She has written for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association magazine, “The Voice” and taught CLE’s for local bar associations.

She graduated in 2010 from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Before law school she worked as a professional theatrical manager, managing shows on tour, regionally, and in New York. She assisted management for two Broadway shows, a television soap opera, and at Lincoln Center. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Webster University in 2001.
