Attorney Russell Turkel is a former US Probation Officer for the Eastern District of Texas. During his twenty-year tenure with the federal courts, he proudly served as a presentence investigation officer, team leader, sentencing guidelines specialist, and supervisor of the Plano pretrial/presentence unit.

Russell pursued his dream of becoming an attorney by enrolling in law school toward the end of his federal career. He graduated with honors from the UNT Dallas College of Law in May 2021, which coincided with his retirement from the federal government. He currently works at Scott H. Palmer, PC, where he practices federal criminal defense and assists other attorneys as a federal sentencing consultant.
