Phillip A. Linder was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where he graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1984.
After receiving his Finance and Accounting degrees from Baylor University in 1988, Phillip Linder earned his Law Degree from Baylor Law School in 1991. Soon after graduating from Baylor Law School he began working at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. During his four years at the Dallas DA’s Office, he tried approximately 75 cases to a jury verdict. After leaving the Dallas DA’s Office in 1996, he started his own criminal defense practice. In 29 years as a Criminal Defense Lawyer, he has tried approximately 200 cases to jury verdict between state and federal courts.
Phillip Linder was admitted to the Northern District of Texas in 1996 and over the next few years was admitted to the other three Federal Districts in the State of Texas. In addition to the four Federal Districts in Texas, he has been admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit-where in 2024 he received a sentencing reversal along with a published opinion in favor of his client. He has also been admitted to the District of Columbia and several U.S. District Courts for Districts in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Alabama, New Mexico and Arizona.
Phillip Linder was Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2006 and currently sits on the exam committee for those lawyers seeking to be Board Certified.
Phillip Linder has served in a variety of leadership positions in the Dallas area legal community including Chairman of the Dallas Area Committee for Lawyer Discipline for six years and president of the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has also served as the President of the Criminal Law section of the Dallas Bar Association for both 2023 and 2024.
Phillip Linder currently maintains offices in Dallas, Frisco and Sherman, Texas.
