Regional Counsel, South Central Region, Federal Bureau of Prisons

Jason Sickler is the Regional Counsel for the South Central Region of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Jason began his career with the Bureau in 1997. After completing his appointment through the Attorney General’s Honors Program in the South Central Regional Office, he served as Staff Attorney at the Federal Correctional Complex in Beaumont, Texas. Jason transferred to assist in the activation of the Federal Detention Center in Houston, Texas, where he assumed the role of Supervisory Attorney. In 2002, after three years at FDC Houston, Jason became the Deputy Regional Counsel in the South Central Region Office in Dallas, Texas. He promoted to his current position in 2007.

As Regional Counsel, Jason oversees litigation, administrative filings, and the rendering of legal advice in the five states encompassing his geographical area of responsibility. Presently, Jason manages approximately twenty-five attorneys, paralegals, and support staff located at five duty stations throughout the Region.

Jason received his undergraduate degrees from the University of North Dakota. He worked for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office while attending law school at the William Mitchell College of Law, from which he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1997.
