Heather Rattan
Assistant United States Attorney, Eastern District of Texas
Heather Rattan was appointed Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas in 1998. She is a trial lawyer in the criminal division designated as an organized crime and drug enforcement task force prosecutor. In 2008, she began focusing on large scale, international cases requiring extradition primarily from Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico. Prior to her appointment as an Assistant United States Attorney, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in El Paso and Denton Counties prosecuting violations of Texas state law. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in English and received her juris doctorate from Texas Tech School of Law.
