Gregory B. Williams

The Honorable Gregory B. Williams was appointed by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. in 2022.
Prior to his appointment, Judge Williams was an equity partner, trial attorney, litigator, former Office Managing Partner, and former member of the Executive Committee at Fox Rothschild LLP, where he practiced law for more than twenty-seven years.
As a practitioner, Judge Williams had a diverse practice focused on business, commercial, intellectual property and other litigation, including patent infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets and other intellectual property disputes, antitrust and unfair competition issues, contractual disputes, business torts, product liability and toxic tort matters (including asbestos and benzene), corporate governance, directors and officers liability, and other fiduciary matters, eminent domain and other real estate related litigation matters.
He tried to verdict several jury trials and multiple bench trials as first chair in federal and state courts in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He was the first African-American attorney to rise through the associate ranks to become an equity partner at Fox Rothschild LLP; the first African-American attorney to serve as Managing Partner of any of the firm’s offices; and the first African- American attorney to serve on the firm’s Executive Committee – the firm being more than one hundred years old at the time of each of those milestones.
Judge Williams is a past President of the Delaware State Bar Association and a past President of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, Inc.
Judge Williams received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1995 and his B.S. in Business Administration and B.A. in Economics from Millersville University in 1990.
