Having appeared in a wide range of films over the course of his career, James Marsden continues to carve out a distinctive place in Hollywood.

Marsden can most recently be seen in the Emmy-nominated PARADISE in which he portrays President Cal Bradford. He earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

In 2024, James Marsden starred in the Emmy-nominated Jury Duty in which he portrays a satirical version of himself. He earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, a Golden Globe Nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television. The show earned Emmy nominations for Best Comedy Series, Writing and Casting and received TCA Nominations for Outstanding New Program and won the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Reality. Jury Duty is a documentary-style comedy series that chronicles the inner workings of an American jury trial through the eyes of one particular juror. What that juror doesn’t know is that the entire case is fake, everyone except him is an actor, and everything that happens — inside the courtroom and out — is carefully planned.

Marsden gained prominence for his role as Scott Summers/Cyclops in the X-Men film series and starred in other popular movies such as Superman Returns, The Notebook, Enchanted, Hairspray, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Beyond film, Marsden appeared in NBC Universal’s hit comedy series, 30 Rock, for a multi-episode arc where he starred as Tina Fey’s love interest; Westworld, opposite Evan Rachel Wood; Mrs. America, opposite Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson; The Stand opposite Alexander Skarsgård and Whoopi Goldberg.
